This stunning original design was commissioned for a client’s cabin in Park Cities, Utah. I found this chair, stripped and restored the wood changing the stain to a much darker shade of dark cherry mahogany. I used a thick plush Navajo wool design and placing the patterns just right on each cushions so that it showed off 3 separate designs within the pattern (plus I didn’t want it to look so matchy-matchy!) I used a thick plush black velvety cowhide for the back, arm rest, both inside & putter arms, inside back and bottom lip of chair seat & ottoman. I used brushed silver nailheads to trim the entire chair which was very time consuming. This chair is absolutely one of my most difficult and time consuming original pieces I’ve design so far and I’m sooooo proud of it as is my client too! I never copy the same piece twice but can use same fabrics (if available) and style chairs to create a new look for clients.
